Using the Diocese of San Diego Curriculum Standards, California State Standards, and Common Core Standards, students at The Nativity School reap the benefits of a multi-intelligence approach to learning with a Christ-centered focus.

Fundamentally, the multi-intelligence approach to learning is: “We are all 100% smart and we are smart in different ways.” This learning approach recognizes that individuals learn in a variety of ways using nine different intelligence areas of the brain:

  • Visual/Spatial
  • Verbal/Linguistic
  • Mathematical/Logical
  • Bodily/Kinesthetic
  • Musical/Rhythmic
  • Naturalist
  • Existentialist
  • Intrapersonal
  • Interpersonal

At Nativity, teaching and learning take place across our curriculum using many strategies applicable to the various thinking styles of our students.

In addition, a highly qualified and nurturing faculty takes care at every stage to integrate the spiritual values that make us Catholic. In addition to our daily religion class, our faith is nurtured and practiced through thoughtful Bible study, prayer and reflection, specific focus on the monthly virtues provides, weekly Mass on Friday, and reciting the rosary. "Where hearts and minds grow great and true" is a motto by which we live a strong, Catholic lifestyle.
